Cement-Pattern Bathroom Floor in a Center Point Farmhouse
This bathroom floor in a renovated Center Point farmhouse uses a cement-pattern porcelain tile in soft gray and white tones. The pattern has a hand-drawn quality that suits the older character of the building without looking like a period reproduction. The floor project required removing the original vinyl sheet flooring and the deteriorated plywood underneath, then installing new plywood and a layer of cement board before the tile could be set. The subfloor in this farmhouse had noticeable deflection near the doorway, which we addressed by sistering a joist before proceeding. The tile pattern was centered in the room and the perimeter cuts fell at consistent widths on all four sides.
