Calacatta Marble Tub Surround in a Fredericksburg Vacation Rental
This bathroom tile project at a Fredericksburg short-term rental property covers the tub surround walls and bathroom floor in a Calacatta marble-look porcelain. The owner specifically requested porcelain rather than actual marble because of the guest traffic volume — porcelain does not require sealing and is far less susceptible to staining from the toiletry products guests bring. The tile is a large-format 12x24 set in a stacked horizontal pattern on the surround walls with the same tile rotating 90 degrees on the floor. White non-sanded grout at 1/16-inch joints keeps the surface clean and easy to maintain between rental turnover cleanings.
