Large-Format Gray Shower with Black Fixtures in Kerrville

This walk-in shower in a Kerrville master bathroom uses large-format gray porcelain tiles set in a stacked horizontal pattern on three walls, with a linear drain running the full width of the floor. The tile is a 24x48 matte porcelain with a subtle concrete look — no visible veining, just quiet texture. The matte black rain head, handheld, and valve trim create sharp contrast against the cool gray tile surface. Because the tiles are large-format, we used medium-bed mortar and back-buttered every piece to achieve the required minimum 95 percent coverage on the back face — essential for a wet area where any hollow spots behind the tile become water migration pathways.
